Swathi gained attention with her TV show Colors and became popular as Colors Swathi. She made her debut on the silver screen with Ashta Chamma and has been a part of many successful films. However, the offers declined and she eventually got married and took a break from her acting career. Now the latest buzz is that she is making a comeback with the film Karthikeya 2. It is a sequel to the 2014 blockbuster Karthikeya which cemented the dwindling career of Nikhil in the industry and introduced Chandoo Mondeti as a director. Swathi played the female lead in the film and her character, Valli, received accolades from the audience.
Nikhil and Chandoo Mondeti have already confirmed Karthikeya 2 and the pre-production work is in progress. According to reports, the film won’t be a successor to the story of Karthikeya but a different story with similar characters. Swathi is not playing the female lead in the film but a significant supporting character with enough screen time to leave an impression. The time is yet to finalize the lead actress. The film has considerable expectations as the first film has a good following and the market of Nikhil improved after the success of his latest film Arjun Suravaram.
