Parasuram shot to fame with the blockbuster Geetha Govindam. He instantly became one of the most sought-after directors in Tollywood and several producers gave him advances too. He was busy for a while with story discussions with producers and actors. He narrated a script to Mahesh Babu and there were speculations that the project was confirmed but there was no official announcement about it. The buzz slowly settled and he didn’t announce any project until the formal launch of his new film with Naga Chaitanya. This led to speculations that his film with Mahesh Babu was shelved. Parasuram confirmed that he will direct a film with Mahesh Babu and the story was already locked.
Allu Aravind had a contract with Parasuram for 3 films under Geetha Arts. He already made Sreerasthu Subhamasthu and Geetha Govindam under their banner. Everyone expected them to make a film with Allu Arjun as the third film and even Parasuram expressed his interest to do so. However, Allu Aravind wants to do a film with Mahesh Babu under their banner. So, Geetha Arts will bankroll the project after the completion of their existing commitments.
