Harish Shankar, Varun Tej’s film formally launched in Hyderabad on Sunday. It is the remake of Tamil blockbuster, Jigrathanda, starring Siddharth, Bobby Simha and Lakshmi Menon. Harish Shankar announced the title of the Telugu version on the occasion of film launch as ‘Valmiki’. Varun Tej plays the role of Bobby Simha which has negative shades. But the title suggests the changes in the script to make Varun Tej as the lead. The title has created positive buzz in the social media and the fans are happy with the title.
Harish Shankar considered Naga Shaurya and Rashmika Mandanna for the other lead roles. But they didn’t make official announcement for the same. In mid-2018, there are rumours that Sai Dharam Tej will play the lead. However, Harish Shankar wanted someone with a class image. After the grand success of F2: Fun and Frustration, other actors are showing interest to work with Varun Tej. Jigarthanda is a gangster drama film with dark comedy and Harish Shankar has the mastery over dealing with such scripts. Varun Tej has huge hopes on Valmiki as it could give him a complete makeover as an actor. Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta are producing the film under 14 Reels Plus banner. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring music for the film and Ram-Laxman are choreographing fights.
